This Project

Volunteer Connections is a project of Los Gatos Thrives Foundation. Our non-profit's vision for Los Gatos to be a community where everyone has an opportunity to be engaged, valued and to thrive. Being engaged in the community through volunteering is one of the best ways to realize this opportunity.

Origins

Connecting those wanting to volunteer with those needing volunteers has taken many forms in Los Gatos. Years ago then Mayor Mike Wasserman set up a very successful meeting to make such connections with sticky notes on a large poster board. Today, service providers post volunteer needs on their website and in newsletters, and service clubs do an excellent job of providing volunteers when they learn of community needs. But where does one start if they are new to the community or new to volunteering? This newsletter is intended to address that need by providing in a single location a monthly listing of volunteer opportunities with nonprofits making a difference in Los Gatos with current openings for volunteers.
